The El Dorado AVA is right in the heart of Gold Rush country. Its elevation starts at 1,200 feet with the White Oak Flats Vineyard sitting at about 1,400 feet. The cool eastern breezes from the Sierra Nevada Mountains and the mountainous terrain of the region combine to produce some of the most sophisticated wines in California.

White Oak Flats is the family’s most historic vineyard, in that it’s situated just a mile away from the original winery. Located in Rescue, California, its 13 acres are a colorful bouquet of reds (Syrah, Petite Sirah, Mourvèdre, Carignan, and Grenache), whites (Viognier, Roussanne, and Marsanne), as well as two legacy grapes (Zinfandel and Mission), which were among those favored by James Skinner in the 1800s.
